Save the turtles

 

We arrived safely in Cozumel by plane and we have been for three weeks now. It was sunny comfortable and warm. We have stayed in Cozumel Hotel and Resort and we have started the program at the Punta Sur turtle camp. This program has the purpose of protecting sea turtles and caring for the environment.

In the first two weeks we have cleaned the beach, we have patrolled day and night to look for turtle nest and be able to relocate them, we have planted mangroves to protect nesting beaches from coastal erosion, we have visited some schools to talk about the environment, recycling and how plastic affects sea turtles and, finally we have been to conferences about how to proctect sea turtles.

In the next week we are going to take a course to save injured turtles, we are going to visit a sea turtle recovery center and we are going to share information about the care of turtles in social networks.
